Sorry if you came here through a feed that gives you the images whether you want them or not. But here's where my finger is at...
I'm not sure how this is supposed to heal, it's just raw flesh exposed. I have the missing piece but it's too dead to be put back, plus the NHS won't bother with it being so small.
Ow ow ow! You poor thing and your poor finger. It will heal by sort of growing over as it were, I think; it'll take a while though and it's in such an inconvenient place as well.
ReplyDeleteEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
ReplyDeleteGood thing it's the left hand. That's a fair sized chunk you lost. Have you been given any advice about how to keep it clean and how to help it heal?
ReplyDeleteOuch, that looks nasty. :-( Agree with Hesadevil - I would be seeing someone first thing Monday to get advice on what to do, possibly just go private. There are things you should/shouldn't do to to make this heal better and more completely, and various options may be available in the short term that won't be available later. Hope it heals painlessly and well.
ReplyDeletethat looks painful :( My mother had similar injuries a few times and it kind of just grew back with only a tiny scar. You wouldn't be able to tell what happened. Good luck with the healing.
ReplyDeleteI had almost the same injury 22 years ago. I was feeding my son and had a new stick blender which jammed on a piece of apple,so I stupidly pulled it out of the blade and it blended my thumb. Anyway, the thumb healed,it sort of closed itself back round where the skin had gone and now it is just a scar.I wont ever be able to be a burglar because my thumb print would give me away but it is normal in every other way.
